Argentine Ambassador Roberto Bosch and Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry officials yesterday discussed possible cattle and dairy technology transfer.
Argentina is well known for its cattle and dairy industry and Negros can learn a lot from that country, MBCCI chief executive officer Frank Carbon, said.
They agreed to resume the technology transfer talks with the Argentine envoy after the holidays, Carbon said.
Being discussed is the possibility of Argentine experts coming to Negros to train local technicians and farmers to ensure sustainable technology transfer, he said.
Bosch, who met with Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., Monday, said his country and Negros Occidental are both engaged in agriculture so there are a lot of good opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
Argentina is a major cattle and dairy producer, so there is room for cooperation there, Bosch said.*CPG
